Yifeng Cui

Dr. Yifeng Cui is the founding Director of HPGeoC. He has general research interests in high performance computing, with expertise in parallelization, optimization, and performance evaluation on both massively parallel and vector machines. He also led Intel Parallel Computing Center at SDSC. Cui earned his Ph.D. in hydrology from the University of Freiburg, Germany.
Amit Chourasia
Personal Webpage
Amit Chourasia is lead of Visualization Services at SDSC. His work centers around the development and application of software tools that allow simulation of massively large data sets produced by scientific and engineering applications. His academic research is in animation, computer graphics, and visualization. He holds a Baccalaureate degree in architecture and a Master's degree in Computers Graphics Technology.
Dong Ju Choi
Dr. Dong Ju Choi is a senior computational scientist with diverse expertise in high performance computing software, programming, optimization, and visualization, one of the original AWP-ODC-GPU developers. His academic research is in the application of finite elements, acoustics, vibration, and control theory to nonlinear stress/strain analysis. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering.
Yongfei Wang
Dr. Yongfei Wang a research scientist at Verisk Extreme Event Solution in Boston. He primarily works on seismic hazard assessment and applies it to insurance/reinsurance industry. Besides, he also use high performance computing to study the earthquake rupture dynamics, ground motions and fault displacements. Dr. Wang obtained Ph.D. in geophysics in University of California San Diego in 2019 and continued to be a postdoc researcher at SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center) till 2023.
Akash Palla
Akash is an undergraduate student at UCSD studying Computer Engineering. His interests include robotics, embedded systems, and high performance computing.
Anish Govind
Anish Govind is an undergraduate student at UCSD studying Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics who has experience working with HPC systems and NVIDIA's CUDA Toolkit. His interests include hardware design, low-level programming, high performance computing, and the use of mathematics to optimize programs.
Haochen Wang
Haochen Wang is a Math-Computer Science undergraduate student at UCSD with training in linear algebraic numerical methods. He has research experience in optimization mathematics, and high performance computing.
Austin Garcia
Austin Garcia is an undergraduate student at UCSD, pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. He is knowledgeable in several programming languages and has a keen interest in Type Theory and the Curry-Howard-Lembik correspondence. He loves studying the low-level and the abstract. He was part of SDSC's SC23 team, and has worked on several projects with the supercomputing club.
Brandon Szeto
Brandon Szeto is an undergraduate student at UCSD studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with experience in software development. His interests include high performance computing, hardware optimization, embedded systems, and their relevant applications in the fields of robotics and machine learning.
Arnav Talreja
Arnav Talreja is an undergraduate student at UCSD studying Mathematics and Computer Science. His interests include high performance computing, AI and ML, quantum mechanics and quantum computing.
